Franco German agenda about fusion

Nuclear fusion featured as a strategic focus in the newly published Franco-German Economic Agenda

Toulon , September 2 , 2025

GenF is especially pleased to see nuclear fusion featured as a strategic focus in the newly published Franco-German Economic Agenda. As outlined in the communiqué from the 25th Franco-German Council of Ministers, Germany and France have agreed to strengthen collaborative research efforts, combining expertise and resources to address the scientific and technical challenges of nuclear fusion. This commitment, set to be formalized in a forthcoming Memorandum of Understanding, marks an important step toward a decarbonized and competitive European energy market.

At GenF, we wholeheartedly support this ambition and stand ready to contribute to joint initiatives advancing fusion science and technology in consistency with France2030. We are eager to share our experience and work with research and industry partners in both countries, believing that only through collaboration can Europe lead in the race for safe, abundant, and clean energy solutions.

We look forward to being part of this historic partnership, driving innovation and excellence in fusion energy.
