Taranis 4 | Event for IFE

Taranis 4 the GenF event for Inertial Fusion Energy

Grateful, energized, and more confident than ever in the future of fusion energy after the Taranis 4 event!

Cohesion events like this are essential to align the diverse ecosystem behind GenF around a shared vision and concrete milestones. They accelerate knowledge transfer between scientists, engineers, industrial partners, and investors, shortening the path from breakthrough to deployment. These meetings also help identify technical and programmatic bottlenecks early, so they can be addressed collectively rather than in isolation. By building trust and a common culture across institutions, they create the conditions for sustained, large‑scale collaboration. Ultimately, this cohesion is a strategic enabler for GenF’s roadmap and for bringing fusion energy from lab concept to reliable energy source for society.

A powerful collective moment

Last week, Taranis 4 brought together 80 committed experts and stakeholders to deep dive into our laser architecture, the definition of our Fusion Hub, the latest technological advances on fusion fuel pellets, and our evolving digital twin.
This rich technical program showed how fast inertial fusion for energy is progressing and how crucial collaboration is to turn it into a viable energy solution.

Thank you to our core partners

Many thanks to CEA, CNRS and Thales for their strong engagement and continuous support in making this seminar a real success.
Their long-term scientific and technical leadership in fusion and high‑energy lasers is a cornerstone of the Taranis journey toward a new generation of fusion reactors.

Thank you all so much for the energy, openness, and passion you brought to this session. It’s exactly this kind of spirit that gives life to GenF’s roadmap and to the future of fusion energy. These moments of cohesion remind us that we’re building something bigger than any single team or organization. It was a real pleasure to share this time with you, on both the scientific and human side. Looking forward to seeing you all again at the next session and continuing the journey together..

GenF Team

Welcoming new contributors

A warm welcome to @Assystem and @Alsymex, whose fresh perspectives and engineering expertise perfectly complemented the panel and broadened the discussion.
Your participation confirms that industrial players are ready to step in and help bridge the gap between cutting‑edge research and large‑scale deployment.

Energy markets and deeptech vision

Special thanks to Giuseppe SANGIOVANNI from Exergon for his impactful talk on the emerging requirements of tomorrow’s energy markets.
His deeptech investment perspective reminded everyone that fusion must be designed from day one to be competitive, investable, and aligned with the energy transition.

Celebrating science and talent

20 scientific posters showcased major advances in inertial fusion for energy, highlighting the vitality and creativity of our community.
And of course, a huge congratulations to Guillem PEYBERNES, proud recipient of this year’s “fusionnician” award for his pioneering work in microfluidics, which is key to future fusion fuel handling and target designs.
